About Bourgas

Bourgas is a modern city, which is located on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. In its 30 kilometers far area you can find everything, that makes a holiday more enjoyable. No matter which way you leave Bourgas, tourists can admire diverse ancient and medieval treasures. Exclusive beaches and great restaurants line up along the coast of Bourgas Bay and Sunny Beach.

Bourgas is the fourth biggest city of Bulgaria and the second biggest on the Bulgarian coastline.



Two trolleybus lines depart from Meden Rudnik, T1 goes to Bourgas Central railway station, T2 has a circular route around Meden Rudnik.


Public transport is mostly provided by buses. Some routes are served by minibusses (rebuilt from vans) with given schedule, so if you are uncertain about the vehicle coming, watch out for minibusses too!


Taxi is quite cheap in Bourgas, however, this is also the hotbed of fraud too. Watch out for any tricks with the taximeter!

Useful tips

If you travel with children, you can find many water and theme parks in the area. For example Sunny Beach Luna Park (Sunny Beach), Action Aquapark (Sunny Beach), Aqua Paradise (Nessebar).

You can watch how table salt is made in a traditional way in the Salt Museum in Pomorie, halfway between Bourgas and Nessebar.

15 kilometers from Bourgas, the spa called Aquae Calidae was founded in the 2nd century. In the same location, plenty of Roman and Medieval reliquiae were found. Next to these, you can find a sanitorium, a spa and a drinking fountain giving water from the same well from where Romans got it.
