Fuerteventura is located on the Eastern part of Canary Islands, which is part of Spain. It is the second largest of the Canary Islands and the capital city is Puerto del Rosario.

Transportation

Bus

Buses rule public transport on the island. Tiadhe company runs 15 lines, including line 15 which connects Puerto de Rosario and Corralejo in every 30 minutes.

Taxi

Taxi services are available 24/7 in Fuerteventura. You can reserve in advance by calling or emailing to the companies. Prices are not the most cost-efficient.

Car

If you want to go around the island, the best thing you can do is to rent a car. Roads are quite well, and it's easy to find a parking slot at beaches or national parks. But to make sure you can park your car in the city, book a hotel which provides parking.

Useful tips

Majorero goat cheese is a typical food on the island. Mostly fresh, semi-hard, and hard versions are sold. The more mature the cheese is, the more intense the flavor.

The island is full of aloe vera fields. You can visit local farmers and watch how aloe extract is made.

Isla de Lobos is an uninhabited island next to Fuerteventura. Apart from the marvelous beaches, there is also a small lighthouse too. Isla de Lobos is also a volcanic island, where if you climb up, you can see the island of Fuerteventura completely.
