Abu Dhabi

About Abu Dhabi

Before the city became rich from the oil export, it was a smaller city, which had incomes from pearl selling. Today it is the world's most improving place, where it is also worth visiting and admiring the luxury and modern architecture, just as in Dubai.

Abu Dhabi is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, and with its 1,5 million population it is the second biggest city of the Emirates after Dubai.

Despite being planned for years, no lines or stations have been completed so far. Once it will be ready, the network will consist of a heavy rail line, two light rail lines and a bus rapid transit loop.

With 14 lines and 24-hour service, Abu Dhabi buses are the easiest and cheapest options to get around! A single ticket on local buses cost 2 AED, on regional services 4 AED, on intercity services, fare varies based on distance. Beware that seats in front are reserved for women, so such seats must be given for them!

Cabs in Abu Dhabi are silver-colored equipped with a yellow 'TAXI' sign. You can hail them on the street or order by telephone or application. Different tariffs apply day and night. Night fares are applied from 10 PM to 6 AM.
